Klay Thompson Has Reportedly Grown ‘Extremely Frustrated’ With Warriors

For years, Bob Myers made sure to keep the Golden State Warriors together.

Whether it was by taming Draymond Green, having Steve Kerr’s ear, or making sure to give his stars contract extensions, the Dubs were a fine-tuned machine during his tenure in the Bay.

That’s no longer the case, and he jumped ship right before it started to sink.

The Warriors had some tough calls to make regarding Green and Thompson’s future, and Myers admitted that his relationship with them could’ve stood in the way of his objective decision-making.

Mike Dunleavy Jr., his successor, doesn’t have those kinds of emotional ties to them.

That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see him taking a business-oriented approach to his negotiations with Klay Thompson, and he hasn’t been particularly fond of that.

According to a report by Brett Siegel, Thompson and his camp have been extremely frustrated with the way the Warriors have dealt with his contract negotiation.

Thompson bet on himself after failing to secure an extension last season, and it didn’t exactly pay off.

Nonetheless, he’s been quite vocal about his desire to stay with the team, even if that means taking less money and a lesser role.

Thompson will have better options from other teams, financially speaking, but he was still expected to come back if the Warriors showed an interest in keeping him.

That may not be the case anymore, and it wouldn’t be about money as much as it would be about showing him some respect.
