The Philadelphia Eagles fell apart down the stretch of last season and lost in the Wild Card round of the playoffs less than a calendar year after getting to the brink of winning the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

But they have every reason to believe they’re set up for a bounce-back 2024 campaign, especially because of the acquisition of star running back Saquon Barkley.

General manager Howie Roseman said on “The Pat McAfee Show” that he has high hopes for what Barkley will do to boost the Eagles this coming season.

He can really do it all and he's gonna make a huge impact for us" ~ Howie Roseman#PMSLive #FlyEaglesFly pic.twitter.com/enYkfXhGqw

After barely losing in Super Bowl LVII to the Kansas City Chiefs, Philly started last season 10-1 and looked to be on their way back to the big game.

But they lost five of their last six regular-season games, and the reality is that the “check engine” light had been on for a while before that collapse even started.

Barkley has been injury-prone over the years, but he will add another dimension to an offense that was already explosive, in more ways than one.

Everyone knows the explosive plays Barkley can make while running the football, but Roseman also praised his blocking ability, especially in the passing game.

He is also a dual-threat running back who caught 41 passes for 280 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games last year for the New York Giants.

Philly’s biggest problem last year was on defense, but they have a new defensive coordinator in Vic Fangio, and they took two promising cornerbacks in last week’s draft.

All the pieces could be there for them to return to the Super Bowl and perhaps win it all this time.
