For the first time in many, many years, the Chicago Bears have a hot and exciting prospect at quarterback, as well as plenty of talent elsewhere on their roster.

Caleb Williams, the No. 1 pick in April’s draft, has given them and their fans some tangible hope that the team will soon be an NFL powerhouse after being a laughingstock for much of the past 35 years or so.

Williams has been described as a generational quarterback prospect, and he turned heads pretty often during his time at the University of Southern California.

During an offseason workout, he threw an absolute strike to wide receiver DJ Moore in the red zone, per Ben Devine, who called it a “gorgeous throw.”

Williams will certainly have some bona fide weapons to work with right away, something that most highly drafted QBs don’t have the benefit of right away.

Moore, who had 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns last season and has gone over the 1,100-yard mark in four of the last five seasons, is one of those weapons.

Williams will also be able to throw the football to Keenan Allen, a six-time Pro Bowler, and Rome Odunze, the No. 9 pick in this year’s draft who is thought to have star potential.

The Bears also have a promising defense that includes studs such as Montez Sweat, a defensive lineman they acquired midway through last season.

If Williams shines brightly early enough this coming season, they could end up snagging a playoff spot and setting the stage for many years of Super Bowl contention right away.
