A number of teams across the NFL have made notable changes or additions this offseason, and that means fans can hardly wait for this coming season.

While many are still picking the Kansas City Chiefs, the defending Super Bowl champions, or the San Francisco 49ers, the team they beat in the Super Bowl in February, to win it all, a lot of other scenarios are possible.

A few people think the New York Jets could possibly challenge for the Vince Lombardi Trophy, and they will start the regular season on “Monday Night Football” at the 49ers.

Former Jets head coach Herm Edwards said on ESPN’s “NFL Live” that he’s really looking forward to that matchup, and he said Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a score to settle with the Niners.

“Aaron Rodgers holds grudges. He can’t wait to play the 49ers.”

Rodgers grew up in California as a 49ers fan, and he was hoping they would take him in the 2005 draft with the No. 1 selection, but they went with Alex Smith instead.

According to Edwards, Rodgers holds a grudge against San Francisco as a result.

The quarterback was eventually taken by the Green Bay Packers, and after backing up Brett Favre for his first three seasons, he became their starter and quickly proved to be a worthy successor.

But in all his years as the face of the storied franchise, he led it to just one Super Bowl title and suffered multiple NFC Championship Game losses, and he asked to be traded last offseason.

After tearing his Achilles in Week 1 last year, Rodgers is looking to bounce back and silence his critics, and he will certainly have the weapons around him on both sides of the football to do just that.

However, he is 40 years of age, and the AFC is filled with many talented teams that would love to spoil New York’s lofty goals.
