The Cleveland Cavaliers got right to work at the start of their offseason, firing head coach J.B. Bickerstaff.

Now that Bickerstaff is gone, stories from inside the locker room are coming to light and it’s clear that things weren’t working.

Speaking to “Run It Back,” via NBACentral, Marcus Morris said there was a definite “disconnect” in the team’s locker room.

“I kind of seen it, sorry to say it…I think [J.B. Bickerstaff’s] time just ran out,” Morris added.

That’s a pretty stark statement from Morris and it makes it obvious why Bickerstaff was let go.

When a head coach loses his locker room, he almost always loses his job too.

If he doesn’t have the respect and loyalty, he doesn’t have anything.

It’s not entirely clear why Bickerstaff and the locker room had a disconnect but it is obvious that Bickerstaff didn’t really have a chance of being head coach next season.

Which players were most unhappy with Bickerstaff and did they make their opinions known?

Fans still don’t know and might not ever get insight into that.

Now the Cavaliers have to search for a replacement who will mend whatever disconnect there is.

There are multiple candidates in the mix and the Cavaliers will make their choice soon.

Will a new face and a new perspective be exactly what the Cavaliers need or are the problems now deeper than that?

A new head coach already has a hard enough job but Cleveland’s incoming leader will have to fix a disgruntled locker room.
