Analyst Says 1 NFL Player Is ‘A Name More Than A Talent’

The Miami Dolphins have a new reinforcement, but perhaps the fans should pump the brakes a little.

While Odell Beckham Jr. is undeniably one of the most talented and athletic wide receivers in NFL history, he’s no longer the player he once was.

You can just tell that by the amount he signed for and how he can make more than twice the money with incentives, as it’s become evident that teams no longer trust him to stay healthy.

With that in mind, NFL analyst Craig Carton just doesn’t expect him to have a significant impact on the Dolphins.

Talking on “The Carton Show,” he tipped his hat to Beckham for all the money he’s made and claimed that it wasn’t his fault, but he just doesn’t see him as more than a third option at this point in his career.

"OBJ is a name more than a talent now."

That’s valid.

The Dolphins already have arguably the best one-two wide receiver punch in the game with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, so OBJ shouldn’t take many targets away from them.

Even so, and even though he hasn’t been as impactful as of late, he’s still going to command some defensive attention, which should open up plenty of space for their speedsters to do their thing down the field.

The Dolphins took the right approach by making this an incentive-based deal.

If things don’t work out, they didn’t have to spend a lot of money to have him.

And it he proves everybody wrong, then the rest of the league will be in a lot of trouble.
