What many NFL fans forget about the career of legendary NFL defender James Harrison is that he played for the New England Patriots in the final year of his 15-year career.
While appearing on “Not Just Football” with Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward, Harrison got honest about his time with Tom Brady and the Pats.
“When I got there, Cam I wanted to hate this dude…He’s too nice, he’s too good, he likes everyone…You can’t hate that dude…He genuinely cares about everybody,” Harrison said (via Carlos Talks Pats).

Despite all the tough matchups between the Steelers and Patriots over the years, there is still that respect between great players.
For Harrison, this was a lesson in making sure every single one of your teammates you have sees the best version of who you are.
That’s what Brady was all the time, and that’s why he is a seven-time Super Bowl champion.
That 2017 season, New England would go on to appear in the Super Bowl but lose to the Philadelphia Eagles in the final minute.
Seeing Harrison play for the Patriots was like seeing Dennis Rodman play for the Lakers.
A great defender leaving one legendary franchise to play for another.
That season, after getting released by the Steelers earlier in the year, Harrison signed a one-year deal with New England and would go on to record two sacks, a forced fumble, and five tackles in his lone regular-season appearance of the season.
He also appeared in all three of New England’s playoff games that year too.
