As the official NFL schedule continues to get leaked, the opening opponent has been determined for the Washington Commanders.
According to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, No. 2 overall draft pick Jayden Daniels will go on the road to face Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the start of the NFL season.
This will be one of the more exciting matchups of Week 1.

Both teams are on opposite sides of the league as the season gets closer.
The Commanders are starting a new era with new ownership, a new head coach in Dan Quinn, and a new quarterback in LSU Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels.
The Buccaneers are coming off of an NFC South-winning season that also saw them beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round.
Baker Mayfield had a career year en route to being named to his first Pro Bowl.
Washington added veteran tight end Zach Ertz and all-purpose running back Austin Ekeler to an offensive core that already includes Terry McLaurin, Brian Robinson Jr., and Jahan Dotson.
Tampa Bay has arguably the best wide receiver duo in the league with future Hall-of-Famer Mike Evans and Pro Bowl receiver Chris Godwin.
They also added All-Pac-12 running back Bucky Irving and former Washington 1,000-yard wide receiver Jalen McMillan.
Look for this to be an exciting matchup, but the Daniels angle will be the most interesting.
Can he turn the tide around for the historic franchise?
Fans will get a glimpse of his capabilities in Tampa Bay in early September.
