Transaction season has started in the NBA, and there have already been a couple of intriguing trades that could have a significant impact on what happens during the 2024-25 campaign.

Earlier this week, the New York Knicks showed that they were all-in on winning the world championship when they traded a treasure chest of draft picks for two-way stud wing Mikal Bridges.

On Friday, the Atlanta Hawks sent guard Dejounte Murray to the New Orleans Pelicans for big man Larry Nance Jr., guard Dyson Daniels and two first-round draft picks, per Adrian Wojnarowski.

Murray has been the subject of trade rumors for months, and there was lots of speculation that the Hawks would trade either him or Trae Young, his backcourt starting mate, sometime soon.

This fan thinks Young is going to be next on the trading block.

Insane how badly Atlanta got fleeced

Hawks got fleeced like how they gave away Luka

This season, Muray averaged a career-high 22.5 points a game, and he played very well late in the season when Young was out with a finger injury.

He is a quick combo guard who can be a volume scorer when needed, and he is occasionally a legitimate 3-point threat as well.

For the last couple of years, the Pelicans have had one of the more talented teams in the Western Conference, but they have lacked a true point guard.

Perhaps Murray will fill that hole and allow them to take a step forward as a bona fide playoff team.
