The Jacksonville Jaguars had a very disappointing 2023 season.

After they won the AFC South, along with a playoff game, in Doug Pederson’s first season in 2022, they missed the playoffs last year.

Part of that had to do with franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence battling through injuries late in the year.

Regardless, it was a tough season.

But, Pederson appears to be fired up for 2024.

“We have gotten bigger…I think we got a tick faster. Then when we put the pads on in July and August we’ll see where we are physically,” Pederson told the team’s official site, via ProFootballTalk.

Everyone knows that the Kansas City Chiefs are the lead dog in the AFC.

But, who is going to challenge them?

The New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, and Cincinnati Bengals are all contenders.

Can the Jaguars get back to being contenders this season?

With the roster they have in place, perhaps.

They added veteran deep threat Gabe Davis from Buffalo, as well as first-round wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. from LSU.

Remember, they already have 1,000-yard receiver Christian Kirk and 1,000-yard running back Travis Etienne, along with Pro Bowl tight end Evan Engram.

This offense is deep and talented.

They also added veteran defenders Arik Armstead and Darnell Savage in free agency.

Look for the Jaguars to be a playoff contender in 2024 after a rough end to the 2023 season.

They have the talent and skills on both sides of the ball to do it.

Oh, they also have a Super Bowl-winning head coach that knows what he is doing.
