With the 2024 NFL Draft officially over, the league has a new crop of talented young players at some of the most important positions on the offensive side of the football field, such as quarterback and wide receiver.

Two of those talented incoming rookies are former LSU teammates in quarterback Jayden Daniels, who was drafted by the Washington Commanders at No. 2, and wide receiver Malik Nabers, who was selected by the New York Giants at No. 6.

As one of the most gifted quarterbacks coming into the league, arguably behind only Caleb Williams of the Chicago Bears, Daniels will likely be given the chance to start right out of the gate in the nation’s capital with only veteran Marcus Mariota standing in his way.

Nabers, however, could quickly become Giants quarterback Daniel Jones’ favorite target downfield in New York next season, which means both rookies may put up some monster numbers during their first season in the NFL.

With both players projected to be Week 1 starters, the two former Tigers have put $10,000 on the line for which one of them will win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, as Daniels admitted on the “All Facts No Brakes” podcast with former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson.

With no telling how the Commanders and Giants will play with their influx of rookie talent, this might be a pretty good bet, as Washington and New York might lean on their rookies to put up numbers next season.

However, there are a few other offensive rookies who will be in the running for this award, including Williams, Drake Maye, Brock Bowers, and Rome Odunze, so there could be some stiff competition.
