Ahead of the 2023-24 NBA regular season, the Washington Wizards made a bold move to acquire guard Jordan Poole in a blockbuster trade with the Golden State Warriors, which resulted in sending the recently acquired Chris Paul to the Bay Area to join forces with Stephen Curry and company.

Ultimately, the trade didn’t really work out for either team, as Paul seemed to be clearly on the downside of his career in San Francisco, and Poole seemed to take two steps back rather than a giant leap forward as a potential star player in the nation’s capital.

As a result of pairing Poole with Kyle Kuzma in Washington, the Wizards had one of their worst seasons in recent memory, with the team being a mess from start to finish.

In the end, the Wizards finished with an ugly record of 15-67 and seem to be a franchise that has no idea where it is going with no direction or goal to speak of moving forward.

With the Wizards essentially at the beginning of a rebuilding process, it seems the team is finally ready to part ways with Kuzma this summer, as he has been made available by the team on the trade market, according to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports via Evan Sidery of Forbes.

Apparently, the Wizards were trying to get two first-round draft picks in exchange for Kuzma ahead of the NBA trade deadline this season, but their attempt to bring in that kind of trade haul fell flat.

Now, it remains to be seen what the team will be asking for in exchange for Kuzma as they try to move him one more time.
