Titans Are Hosting Free-Agent WR For Visit Today

The Tennessee Titans now have an offensive-minded coach, so it only makes sense that they want to address that side of the field in the offseason.

They don’t have many options at wide receiver, and while they could’ve solved that in the NFL Draft, they chose to bolster their shaky offensive line with their first-round pick.

Now, shortly after hosting veteran WR Tyler Boyd for a visit last week, they’ll do the same with Zay Jones.

According to a report by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Jones could be an obvious option in Tennessee because of his connection to new OC Nick Holz, who was in Jacksonville last season as well.

The Titans clearly need someone to line up in the slot, which is why it’s not much of a surprise to see them host both Jones and Boyd.

They have DeAndre Hopkins and Calvin Ridley lining out wide, with Treylon Burks, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, and Kyle Phillips as their other options.

While not a star, Jones has been more than efficient in his time in the league, but with the Jaguars taking LSU star Brian Thomas Jr. in the first round, it made more sense for them to release him.

Despite suffering an injury, Jones still had 34 grabs for 321 yards and two scores last season for the Jaguars, and he was much better in 2022, with 82 receptions for 823 yards and five touchdowns.

Whether they go with Boyd or Jones, they clearly want to give Will Levis more weapons ahead of his sophomore season.
