Suns Expected To Lose Key Free Agent This Offseason

After making another bold move to put another superstar on the roster last summer with the addition of Bradley Beal, the Phoenix Suns were extremely top-heavy, as the team had put all their money into their three star players with no thought to be able to surround them with talent in the years to come.

Although the star-studded roster headlined by Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Beal was intimidating, to say the least, Phoenix was scrambling to use the little cap space they had left to bring in other talented players to make this squad a genuine title contender in the Western Conference.

Fortunately, the team was able to get a steal in the form of veteran guard and sharpshooter Eric Gordon, which is a signing that came out of nowhere and surprised everyone, as he seemed like a perfect fit in Phoenix.

However, according to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Phoenix via NBA Central, the Suns might not be able to bring Gordon back for a second season in Phoenix.

In 68 games with the Suns last season, Gordon averaged 11.0 points, 2.0 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game, shooting 44.3% from the floor and 37.8% from beyond the arc.

If Gordon does indeed decide to take his talents elsewhere this summer, and he will no doubt have his fair share of suitors in NBA free agency, it could prove to be a costly blow for the Suns as they try to pick up the pieces after getting swept by Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
