Report: Trae Young Is ‘Less Likely’ To Be Traded To 1 West Team

The Los Angeles Lakers have been in the market for another star for quite a while now.

They were reportedly in the mix to land Dejounte Murray last season.

However, with D’Angelo Russell breaking out, they decided to run it back with their same core.

Now, Murray has been moved to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Trae Young has also been linked with a move to the Lakers for quite a while.

Nonetheless, Young recently ditched Rich Paul’s Klutch Sports and signed with CAA, thus making a deal with the Lakers less likely, according to Jovan Buha (via Legion Hoops).

The San Antonio Spurs have also been tied with a move for Young.

Then again, the fact that they took Stephon Castle in the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft may have made that move slightly less likely.

The Hawks have kickstarted their rebuild by trading Murray and landing Zaccharie Risacher with the No. 1 pick of the draft, but Young is their most valuable trade asset, so they will also have to find him a new home to land the capital they need to rebuild.
