The New York Jets made a huge splash when they traded for Haason Reddick.

Nonetheless, that transaction has only brought them problems thus far, as he hasn’t even shown up to join his new team yet.

However, Quinnen Williams seems to feel quite confident about their ability to get past this impasse, as he recently talked as if Reddick was going to be there next season.

Talking to Caroline Hendershot, he stated that the Jets now had an MVP-caliber player in Reddick, who could also be a Defensive Player of the Year candidate next season (via Paul Andrew Esden Jr).

.@QuinnenWilliams had some major praise for his new #Jets teammate @Haason7Reddick when speaking w/ @cghendy:

‘You got Haason Reddick unbelievable MVP caliber type edge rusher, Defensive Player of the Year type edge rusher coming over from the #Eagles.’

Reddick has been a controversial subject in New York.

He forced a trade out of Philadelphia because he was unhappy with his contract situation, so the logical move for whoever traded for him was to give him a new deal.

That hasn’t been the case in New York thus far, and he skipped mini-camp and OTAs.

Moreover, he made the rounds after posting a pic of himself in Tokyo while the rest of his teammates were getting ready for the upcoming campaign.

Reddick is, indeed, one of the prime edge rushers in the league.

He can become a free agent at the end of the season and the final year of his contract isn’t guaranteed, so it’ll be interesting to see how he uses his leverage and whether the Jets cave to his demands.
