In Game 1 of the NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics took control of this seven-game series, with the team not getting the best performance out of superstar forward Jayson Tatum but having six players scoring in double digits, leading to an 18-point win over Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.

The Celtics were clearly the better all-around team in Game 1 and got an unexpectedly great first game back from Kristaps Porzingis, who scored 20 points off the bench after missing the majority of the postseason with a calf strain.

On Sunday, the Celtics will host the Mavericks for a second straight game at TD Garden in Boston and hope to take a commanding 2-0 series lead before things shift to Dallas for Game 3 and Game 4.

Ahead of Game 2 in Boston, former Celtics superstar Paul Pierce predicted how things would go on Sunday at TD Garden, as he believes his old team will win by 15 via Kevin Garnett’s Twitter account.

He predicted the Celtics would also sweep the Mavs if they won Game 2.

“I’m in the building C’s by 15… if we win Game 2 we gon sweep them (Mavs),” Pierce said.

With the Celtics taking down the Mavericks with relative ease in Game 1, Boston is favored by -6.5 to come out on top against the Mavericks in Game 2, with Doncic and Kyrie Irving having a tall task ahead to even up the series at one game apiece.

Unfortunately for Dallas, Doncic heads into Game 2 on Sunday somewhat banged up, as he has been downgraded to questionable to play in this game, even though the consensus is that he will play.
