The Green Bay Packers proved to be ahead of schedule last season.

They were a bit of a wild card entering the year, as no one truly knew what to expect from them.

It was a tough test for HC Matt LaFleur, who had to prove his value without a future first-ballot Hall of Famer at quarterback, and the same went for Jordan Love.

Love silenced the doubters, particularly late in the season, rallying to finish with a 9-8 record, a playoff berth, and even a huge win on the road.

With that in mind, former NFL MVP Matt Ryan shared his thoughts on his colleague, and he seemed quite impressed by him.

Talking at the AmFam Championship, Ryan claimed that some of the throws Love made reminded him of Aaron Rodgers, so he was clearly quite influenced by his time working behind the multi-time MVP (via Alex Strouf).

He praised Love for his ability to move outside the pocket and still deliver the football with accuracy and velocity.

Ryan does feel like he has to clean up some simple things and be more consistent, but that should come with more reps and experience.

He also claimed that he has plenty of faith in the Packers’ group of young wide receivers, adding that the sky could be the limit for this team and that the north should be quite fun to watch.

Love is about to get paid, and he’ll now have to prove that last season’s success wasn’t a fluke and that he’s here to stay.
