The New York Knicks are a much better team today than they were two days ago.

Trading for Mikal Bridges was huge, and it could have major implications for Tom Thibodeau’s team.

That’s why Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson took to Twitter to tip his hat to Leon Rose and William Wesley for the way they’ve put this team together.

Mikal Bridges traded to the Knicks. Wow, hats off to Leon Rose and William Wesley aka World Wide Wes! This trade changes the landscape in the Eastern Conference. Now, the Knicks will challenge the Celtics for first place in the East while putting pressure on the Sixers and Bucks…

Not so long ago, the Knicks were the butt of the joke for seemingly overpaying for Jalen Brunson.

Fast forward to today, and the joke is on everybody else.

Landing Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo also proved to be quite effective, so those Villanova guys have most definitely earned the benefit of the doubt.

Bridges is one of the most — if not the most — durable players in the league.

He’s also an elite defender who can guard multiple positions, all while getting buckets from all three levels.

He might not be suited to be a 1A guy, but he’s more than capable of making an impact on both ends of the floor.

On top of that, the Knicks will likely re-sign OG Anunoby, one of the best defensive wings in the game.

Julius Randle will bring his physicality back to the floor next season when he’s back to full strength, and Mitchell Robinson can be a lockdown rim protector if he stays out of foul trouble.

The Knicks just got scary, and the front office deserves all the credit in the world for the kind of roster they’ve put together.
