On Sunday, the Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers went head-to-head in an epic battle, with a trip to the second round of the NBA playoffs on the line in Game 7 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.

Although the home team was favored by -3.5 to come out on top in this one, the Magic were not going away quietly, mainly due to their star player refusing to go down without a fight, as forward Paolo Banchero put on a show on Sunday in Cleveland.

In Game 7, it was a tale of two halves, with the Magic in control in the first half and the Cavaliers taking over in the second half by overcoming an 18-point lead.

In the end, the Cavaliers came out victorious, with Donovan Mitchell putting the Magic away with a game-high 39 points.

Despite Mitchell and company coming out on top, Banchero had arguably the best game of his career when the lights were the brightest, earning him some high praise from head coach Jamahl Mosley via ClutchPoints.

“Special,” Mosley said. “There’s a reason why he’s an All-Star, there’s a reason why he’ll be All-NBA. [In] big moments, he never shies away from them. Never back down.”

Although Banchero didn’t put up stunning numbers during the regular season, he definitely seems to be a player who raises his level of play when the team needs him the most, like in important situations during the NBA playoffs.

Banchero scored 31 points or more three times during this seven-game series against the Cavaliers and definitely showed his potential to be a superstar in Orlando in the near future.
