Coming into the NBA back in 2020, there were some high hopes for LaMelo Ball, as he was expected to be taken high in the 2020 NBA Draft, and that he was with Michael Jordan deciding to bring him in with the No. 3 overall pick.

Even though Ball has shown a lot of promise on the basketball floor for the Charlotte Hornets when healthy, as he earned All-Star honors in his second season with the team, he is rarely healthy and is coming off yet another season shortened due to an injury.

In four seasons with the Hornets thus far, Ball has played in only 184 games, which is not ideal for a player on whom the team risked using a No. 3 overall pick with hopes of him becoming the face of the franchise.

While Ball has had a lot of time on his hands trying to recover from injury, it appears he’s been spending a lot of time in the tattoo parlor, with the 22-year-old guard getting a gigantic tattoo on his back, via Complex Sports and inkedNBA.

With the Hornets using the No. 2 overall pick on Brandon Miller in last year’s draft, Charlotte seems to have something brewing heading into the immediate future, especially if Ball can bounce back from his injuries over the first four years of his career and be part of this dynamic duo.

If Ball and Miller can put it together on the basketball court while staying healthy, the Hornets might be a bit of a dark horse in the Eastern Conference next season, like the Orlando Magic were this season.
