Isaiah Hartenstein is leaving the New York Knicks after securing a new deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder for three years and $87 million.

That means his days of playing with Josh Hart have ended and Hart humorously wished him goodbye.

On Twitter, Hart reposted the report of Hartenstein leaving the team and said, “You are dead to me Zay. I never liked you anyways. But congrats on the bag!”

Hartenstein has spent the last two seasons with the Knicks, averaging 6.3 points and 7.4 rebounds during that time.

Last year he was used as a backup center but got a lot more time on the court in 2023-24 due to multiple team injuries.

He was able to shine more and, therefore, gain the interest of other teams.

Therefore, it wasn’t shocking when those teams wanted to sign him in free agency.

With the Thunder, Hartenstein will now be able to be a full-time starter and help Oklahoma City fight to be the best squad in the Western Conference again.

As for the Knicks, they will now be without a fan-favorite player but will push on and try to fill the void he leaves.

Hart has always used a lot of humor with the people he cares about so this comment from him is just a sign that he really does love Hartenstein and will miss him.

He might miss Hartenstein even more if the Knicks have trouble on the frontcourt because of his departure.

Hart and Hartenstein will no longer play together but this tweet proves they will remain friends.
