Over the past few years, the Boston Celtics have been one of the elite teams in the NBA, with one of the most promising young duos in the league leading the way in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Despite the Celtics being incredibly talented, Boston was never able to get over the hump with Tatum and Brown as the team’s star players, as many believed that they were good but might never be great.

However, after falling short in the NBA Finals to Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors two years ago and coming one win shy of returning to the Finals last year, Tatum and company were finally able to prove they could get it done on the biggest stage by taking down Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks in five games.

Even though Tatum didn’t win the Eastern Conference Finals MVP or NBA Finals MVP, both of which went to Brown, and understandably so, the former high draft pick still has a smile from ear to ear after winning his first title.

Tatum now wants to be referred to as “champ” moving forward, as he has joined an elite club of Celtics legends via Courtside Buzz.

“Just call me ‘champ’ when you see me,” Tatum said.

With one Larry O’Brien Trophy added to his trophy case, Tatum will try to go back-to-back next season with the Celtics and might have a solid chance to do so after such a dominant performance during this postseason run.

The Celtics only lost three games throughout their entire playoff, which is quite impressive.
