Over the past few years, superstar forward Jayson Tatum has gotten a lot of credit for the success of the Boston Celtics and is often considered the current face of the storied franchise, especially during the NBA Finals.

Although Tatum is undoubtedly a talented player and worthy of the distinction of being one of the best players in the league, it seems as though Jaylen Brown is emerging as the best player on the Celtics roster, as he has had a stellar postseason thus far, which could get capped off by winning NBA Finals MVP.

Brown has consistently been a force to be reckoned with on both ends of the basketball floor for the Celtics during the NBA playoffs, as the massive contract extension he signed with the team in the offseason seems to be paying off, with the rising star taking his game to another level entirely.

Along with proving he can get it done on the biggest stage this year, Brown has also joined some select company, with the Celtics star joining Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Jimmy Butler as the last four Eastern Conference players with 30 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists in a Finals game, according to StatMuse.

Being mentioned in the same breath as Jordan and James when it comes to Finals performances is quite the accomplishment for Brown, which could be followed up by the Bill Russell Trophy if he continues to play at a high level against the Dallas Mavericks.

On Friday, the Celtics will take on the Mavericks in Dallas at American Airlines Center with a chance to pull off the sweep and head back to Boston as NBA champions.
