The Dallas Cowboys and their quarterback Dak Prescott are in yet another contract situation.

The former Mississippi State star is coming off of his best season as a pro after he threw a career-best 410 completions and a career-high 36 touchdowns.

However, he is entering the final year of his deal.

Insider Ari Meirov believes that the All-Pro has all the leverage in this situation.

“He’s in his own universe when it comes to QB contracts. Prescott has all the leverage to ask for at least $60M per year,” Meirov recently tweeted.

Dak Prescott's contract situation is unique, and frankly, he's in his own universe when it comes to QB contracts.

Prescott has all the leverage to ask for at least $60M per year — or Dallas risks losing him for nothing a year from now.

Prescott also has a better body of work than a player like Trevor Lawrence, who just earned a five-year contract worth $275 million.

Prescott, despite not playing great in the playoffs, has guided the Cowboys to three consecutive 12-win seasons.

The former Walter Payton Man of the Year has been in the NFL for eight seasons and has won nearly 65% of his games.

He has a career passer rating of 99.0 and has proven himself to be a top-10 player at the position.

Now, perhaps if he got a consistent defensive performance or two from his defense in the playoffs, the team would have more wins.

If Prescott chose not to sign with Dallas in favor of a team like the Dolphins, would things be different in the playoffs?

Perhaps, but the Cowboys should not let Prescott walk.

He is the biggest reason why this team can contend for the playoffs.

However, the team must find a way to sign him, All-Pro receiver CeeDee Lamb, and All-Pro edge-rusher Micah Parsons.
