The New York Giants made a tough call in the offseason, but it seemed to be easy for them.

Clearly, they didn’t value Saquon Barkley as much as the rest of the league, so they had no trouble letting him walk away.

Barkley chose the perfect spot to get back at them twice a year by signing with a divisional rival, the Philadelphia Eagles.

That’s big trouble for the Giants, according to Plaxico Burress.

The franchise legend made an appearance on The Carton Show and claimed that Barkley is the kind of player who makes the quarterback’s job easier.

He referred to Joe Schoen’s words about how they needed to put Daniel Jones in a position to succeed and that he wasn’t giving up on him, adding that it made no sense for them to give up on their best player.

Burress doesn’t seem to be so high on Jones, and he believes the fan base feels the same way.

He stated that all franchises need to field a product that people respect, particularly the fans, and it’s hard to believe the Giants will be a better team without Barkley than with him.

Daniel Jones might or might not turn out to be the kind of player they hope he’s going to be, but one thing’s for sure: This team will miss Saquon Barkley.

Will all due respect to Devin Singletary, who’s a very productive player, he’s not on Barkley’s level; few players are.

Schoen has moved all his chips to the center of the table with Jones, and that could prove to be quite costly for his career if things don’t work out.
