Former Player Predicts Which QB Will Start For Broncos

After pulling the plug on their failed Russell Wilson experiment, the Denver Broncos may have a bit of a quarterback controversy as training camp for the 2024 season approaches.

As of now, they have three candidates for their starting quarterback job: Jarrett Stidham, Zach Wilson and Bo Nix, who was the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Some feel Nix has the inside track to become the Broncos’ starter, and former Denver tight end Julius Thomas said on “Up & Adams” that he expects Nix to be QB1 for Week 1, per FanDuel TV.

Some pundits have said that Nix has some similarities to Drew Brees, the legendary quarterback who played for Broncos head coach Sean Payton when both were with the New Orleans Saints.

Nix isn’t a big quarterback (he’s listed at 6-foot-2 and 217 pounds), but he was very accurate and put up outstanding numbers while at the University of Oregon.

Last season, he threw for 4,508 yards and 45 touchdowns while setting a single-season record with a 77.45 percent completion rate.

Stidham and Zach Wilson haven’t done much, if anything, to prove they’re worthy of being a starting quarterback in the NFL, and that may give Nix just enough of an edge to win Denver’s job rather quickly.

The Broncos haven’t made the playoffs since winning the Super Bowl in the 2015 NFL season, and the once-proud franchise remains in arguably the darkest period in its history.

After failing to get out of the dungeon with Russell Wilson at the controls, the Broncos are hoping Nix will rescue them and become their first true standout QB since Peyton Manning retired.
