Falcons Make Four Roster Moves

The NFL in June is always an interesting place.

The reason is that teams get to see most or all of their players practicing together before training camp officially takes place.

Those teams also will tend to make a few roster moves here or there in an effort to keep everybody on their toes.

In Atlanta, the Falcons have continued to make roster tweaks here and there.

According to insider Aaron Wilson, the team officially signed former UFL players in Jaryd Jones-Smith and Prince Emili while waiving the likes of Nolan Potter and Willington Previlon.

The additions of the offensive tackle in Jones-Smith and the defensive tackle Emili prove that the UFL is making an impact on the NFL.

Jones-Smith has made plenty of stops throughout his professional career.

After going undrafted out of Pittsburgh in 2018, he would go on to bounce around between the NFL, the AAF and the UFL over the next six years.

He made the All-UFL Team early on in 2024 after a solid stint with the St. Louis Battlehawks.

The addition of the 25-year-old Emili could bring great competition to the defensive line in Atlanta behind the likes of Pro-Bowler Grady Jarrett and veteran David Onyemata.

The former San Antonio Brahmas star recorded 23 tackles and 3.0 sacks while in the UFL.

Emili also had previous stints with the Buffalo Bills and the New Orleans Saints after going undrafted out of the University of Pennsylvania in 2022.

Who knows if these players will make the final roster after the summer is over, but they will at the very least bring some new competition to the building.
