The Patriots moved on from their former starter in Mac Jones earlier this offseason by trading him to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Patriots Executive Vice President of Player Personnel Eliot Wolf recently appeared on Up & Adams to talk about what he learned from that whole situation.
“The main thing that we’ve been able to take away is just being able to support not only Drake (Maye), but every quarterback we have,” Wolf said.

This makes a ton of sense that he would say this.
In the final years of both Bill Belichick and Mac Jones, New England didn’t do a great job of surrounding their once-Pro Bowl quarterback with enough talent.
The best players on the team, such as edge-rusher Matthew Judon or former special teams great Matthew Slater, were usually not on offense.
The Patriots didn’t have any great skill pieces on offense around Jones.
Now, the Pats can learn from their mistakes in an effort to help the No. 3 overall draft pick in Maye.
Maye will have his fair share of weapons to work with over the summer before the regular season gets underway.
No one is expecting much from New England, which is why they could be dangerous in the long run if Maye hits on his potential.
