Heading into the NFL playoffs last season, the Dallas Cowboys were the second seed in the NFC and appeared to be the team to beat in the conference, along with the San Francisco 49ers, who eventually went on to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately for Dallas, even though the team had a brilliant regular season highlighted by an MVP-caliber campaign by star quarterback Dak Prescott, the Cowboys were outmatched by the upstart Green Bay Packers, with Jordan Love leading the storied franchise to a blowout win over America’s Team.

With the Cowboys flaming out in the playoffs in epic fashion, the fans of the team demanded some changes as they had become tired of Dallas not being able to come through in the postseason with Prescott under center.

Although the pressure was on for the Cowboys and longtime team owner Jerry Jones promised some moves during the offseason, Dallas has been very quiet, adding to a frustrated fanbase.

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, Dallas made a move on Tuesday by bringing in former Houston Texans cornerback Gareon Conley.

The addition of Conley to the secondary is not a game-changing acquisition, as he hasn’t played a game in the NFL since the 2019 campaign, where he suited up for the then-Oakland Raiders and the Texans.

Although Conley was once a promising prospect, the Raiders selected him as their first-round draft pick in 2017; the former Ohio State star has struggled to be productive on the NFL level.

However, he’ll get a second chance with the Cowboys, at least during training camp, to prove his worth and earn a spot on the team.
