Bronny James Gets Honest About Being The Son Of LeBron James

It is never easy to follow in the footsteps of an incredibly successful and famous father, with Michael Jordan’s sons Marcus Jordan and Jeffrey Jordan being perfect examples of that, as neither basketball player could make it to the NBA level.

Not only does Bronny James have to overcome being an undersized guard without any particular skills that outshine the competition, but he must also try to follow in the footsteps of the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, who is still playing at an insanely high level and will be approaching 40 years old in December.

LeBron James hasn’t made it easy for his eldest son to follow in his footsteps, as he has put the added pressure on him that he wants to play with him at some point down the road, making some teams believe if they draft the son, the father will follow as a free agent.

As if that wasn’t a ton of pressure to deal with, LeBron also made comments last season that Bronny could play on the Los Angeles Lakers and outplay a lot of players in the league, which, by all accounts and the lack of evidence at USC, doesn’t seem to be true.

In a recent interview with Robbie Hummel, Bronny James was asked what it is like being LeBron James’ eldest son while trying to pave his own path to the NBA, via SiriusXM NBA Radio.

“It’s tough,” James said. “A lot of criticism gets thrown my way.”

As much as Bronny would like to distance himself from his father in order to make it to the next level on his own merit, that won’t be an easy task, as the two will be directly connected until the four-time NBA champion calls it a career.

Only time will tell if this father-son duo will eventually play on the same team and whether Bronny James will endure the pressure to be a success in the NBA.
