Blake Griffin Was Asked If Clippers Should Retire His Jersey

During his time with the Los Angeles Clippers, forward Blake Griffin became a legitimate superstar in the NBA, as he was arguably one of the most entertaining players to watch in the league, with his high-flying act that made highlights on a seemingly nightly basis.

Eventually, superstar point guard Chris Paul joined the team and set up a promising future for the struggling NBA franchise, with the team coining the phrase “Lob City” with Griffin and DeAndre Jordan lighting up the scoreboards with incredible dunks.

Although the Clippers were one of the best teams in the league during this “Lob City” era, Griffin and company were never able to get over the hump and win that elusive first title for the franchise, as this team always seemed to flame out in the NBA playoffs for one reason or another.

Even though the star-studded Clippers failed to live up to expectations, Griffin still left his mark in Los Angeles, which could lead to the team retiring his jersey, and he admitted he would appreciate the “huge honor” of having his number in the rafters at Intuit Dome, via “Run It Back.”

“It’s obviously a huge honor,” Griffin said.”Yeah, I wouldn’t turn that down.”

If Griffin gets the nod to have his jersey retired, Paul and Jordan will almost certainly get their jerseys retired as well, which would be a nice ceremony to open the new arena in Inglewood, California.

It’s safe to say these three players were the best players to come through the organization in the team’s history and deserve to be honored.
