Kristaps Porzingis was back in a huge way on Thursday night.

The celebrated big man was a gigantic part of the Boston Celtics’ significant Game 1 win over the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals.

Speaking on his show, via The Volume, Jason Timpf praised Porzingis and said that he “unlocks it all” for the Celtics.

Timpf noted that it’s very hard to be off the court for several weeks because of an injury and then immediately enter the NBA Finals.

Yet, Porzingis had no problem doing just that and was posting great shots, helping on both ends of the court, and moving with speed and skill.

His abilities lift the ceiling of the Celtics, according to Timpf, and he is a key to their success moving forward.

When it was announced that he’d be coming off the bench for Game 1, some fans were worried that Porzingis wouldn’t be fully healthy.

The idea of him not being 100% was frightening, especially against such a tough team like the Dallas Mavericks.

But Porzingis certainly looked in good shape during Friday’s game and his 20 points were a tremendous part of their victory.

Now he just needs to keep it up.

There were concerns about Porzingis when he was signed by the Celtics in the summer.

His past history of injuries and his lack of work in the postseason had certain people nervous.

But Porzingis has been a hugely impactful part of the team all season.

He missed a lot of time during the playoffs but he has returned and is ready to make up for lost time.

His Game 1 performance was phenomenal and now Porzingis will attempt to prove it wasn’t a fluke.
