The Minnesota Timberwolves are the first team to move on to the second round of the NBA playoffs.

Anthony Edwards had another majestic performance to close out the Phoenix Suns with a four-game sweep.

He’s officially put the world on notice, taking the big stage in front of his favorite player, and outplaying him and their plethora of stars to get the job done.

That’s why former NFL player Chris Canty believes he’s officially arrived.

Talking on his UNSPORTSMANLIKE Radio Show, the former football player argued that Edwards has put the world on notice with these kinds of performances, showing that he’s ready to take over and won’t expect anyone else to pass him the torch.

He also argued that even though they’re likely going to square off against the reigning NBA champion, the Denver Nuggets, in the second round, that series shouldn’t look anything like their series vs. the Los Angeles Lakers.

This will be an interesting rematch of last season’s first round.

The Nuggets were clearly the better team and got them in just five games, but the Timberwolves, and especially Edwards, have come a long way since then.

Timberwolves and Nuggets split their four-game season series, with Nikola Jokic’s team winning a crucial matchup late in the campaign to seal the No. 2 spot and send the Timberwolves to the No. 3 seed.

Mike Malone’s team is likely going to be favored in this series, but it wouldn’t be much of a surprise if Edwards leads the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals for the second time in franchise history.
