Analyst Makes A Bold Claim About Tyron Smith

The New York Jets have made some key moves this offseason to bolster the team around starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The offensive line was the biggest issue outside of quarterback last year, and GM Joe Douglas wasted no time in fixing that unit.

He added former Baltimore Ravens starters in guard John Simpson and right tackle Morgan Moses.

Additionally, the team used their first-round draft choice this year on offensive tackle Olu Fashanu out of Penn State.

However, the biggest addition along the line might have been that of legendary left tackle Tyron Smith.

The eight-time Pro-Bowler and All-Decade left tackle signed with Gang Green on a one-year deal earlier this offseason.

Insider Connor Hughes recently joined The Carton Show to chat about how good Smith has looked with the team.

“He’s arguably the best pass blocking offensive tackle to ever walk the planet Earth…When he is on the field, he is so spectacular,” Hughes said.

The 33-year-old Smith should remind his new quarterback Aaron Rodgers of one of Rodgers’s old teammates in five-time All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari, who he was with in Green Bay for a decade.

The former Cowboy has been an elite protector for a long, long time.

With this revamped offensive line, the Jets and their fans shouldn’t have to worry about any inconsistencies up front.

They have the experience and the talent to protect the four-time MVP, who played just a couple of snaps last season after getting sacked and suffering a torn Achilles in Week 1 against the rival Bills.

If Smith and Co. can keep Rodgers upright, it very well could be lights out for the rest of the league.
