The Kansas City Chiefs are the kings of the castle right now.

They have won three Super Bowls in the last five years and are on the doorstep of a possible three-peat.

But, which team out there can pose a real threat to the back-to-back champions heading into the 2024 season?

NFL insider James Palmer believes the Houston Texans could be that team.

“They’re built to do it…I think they’re built to do it because of where they’re at at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball…I think down the middle of the field and through the lines of scrimmage, they’re just really, really good,” Palmer recently said on Up & Adams.

Houston made a lot of moves this offseason to take advantage of their open championship window right now.

They traded for All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs, signed former Pro Bowl running back Joe Mixon and added four-time Pro Bowl edge-rusher Danielle Hunter.

These moves are coming on the heels of a season that saw this team win the AFC South and a playoff game for the first time since 2019.

Head coach DeMeco Ryan and rising superstar quarterback C.J. Stroud together make up one of the bright, young head coach-quarterback duos in the sport.

This is a team that has great players on both sides of the ball, as Palmer noted.

1,000-yard receiver Nico Collins and the very talented Tank Dell bring plenty of ability to the receiver room.

Reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year Will Anderson Jr. is not to be messed with either on the edge.

This team could very well be ready to take that next step and compete with a team like Kansas City this year.
